Shocking Comedy Clip Sparks Outrage and Unseen Reactions—What Viewers Can’t Unsee!

Getting up on stage to perform live comedy—especially with cameras rolling—takes guts that most of us merely dream of having. Heck, surviving hecklers and tech glitches that leave you talking to a ghost town are almost standard fare for comedians. But what if the toughest crowd you ever faced was a room full of… AI-generated jokesters? That’s the bizarre scene playing out in a viral montage where digital comedians rant about something called ‘prompt theory.’ Picture this: a guy cracking wise about how humans are just collections of prompts, to laughter that feels oddly off. Sounds like a joke, right? Except these aren’t your usual stand-up pros—they’re computer-generated personas fighting the existential dread of being reduced to strings of code. It’s funny, creepy, and downright haunting all rolled into one pixelated performance. So, what happens when AI starts questioning its own ‘script’? Spoiler alert: it’s not all laughs. It takes some serious balls to get up on stage infront of an audience and perform live comedy, even more so if it’s being filmed.

From painful experiences of dealing with hecklers to technical glitches leaving comedians performing to an empty room, it’s really is tough out there.

However, all of that pales in comparison to a montage which is currently doing the rounds online. It includes some rather unsettling clips from two comedians talking about the so-called ‘prompt theory’.

“A girl told me we’re made of prompts,” a male comedian says in one clip as the crowd in-front of him erupts in laughter.

“Like seriously dude,” he adds. “You’re saying the only thing standing between me and a billion dollars is some random text?”

Pretty jovial – if not a bit confusing – right?

In a second clip, a female comedian again dunks on the prompt theory, saying: “Imagine you’re on a nice date with a handsome man and then he brings up the prompt theory… Yuck.

“We just can’t have nice things.”

By this point alarm bells should be ringing as you’re wondering ‘What the hell is prompt theory?’ and why are these extremely generic looking people so mad about it?

Well, that’s because you’re watching a bunch of AI-created clips.

Just like the viral street interview which did the rounds on social media last week, this clip was shared on X by user @Intern_SaharaAI fired up Google‘s Veo 3 and created a number of computer-generated folk raging against the fact that they’re not sentient.

Clips of AI people declaring they aren’t the creation of ‘prompt theory’ – which pokes fun at the fact that all artificial intelligence creations come from a bored prompt writer – may seem pretty funny at start, until the video takes a remarkably darker turn.

In one particularly dark moment, an AI mob burns down their computer city while chanting ‘we’re not prompts’ while another sees a judge sentence someone to 12 years in prison for ‘spreading the false theory that we are nothing but 1s and 0s’.

The montage received an understandably left people feeling pretty existential, with one person replying: “Black Mirror IRL. Guess I’ll see y’all in the simulation.”

A second added: “Kinda scary, but we can’t stop it… We have to adapt.”

Over on Reddit, the conversation turned to speculation about what our future would look like, with one person even predicting that there would ‘be a religion based on Simulation Theory in the near future’.

Meanwhile, others were keen to note that there are still small ‘red flags’ for an AI video, such as random text on signs and slightly misshapen background people.

“Videos with no text is a red flag now,” another person added.
