Amy Bradley’s family lied in court during a Royal Caribbean lawsuit in a bizarre incident that was left out of the Netflix documentary.
Netflix’s newest true crime documentary, AMY BRADLEY IS MISSING, has brought renewed interest to the case of the 23-year-old who went missing from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in 1998.
Her family maintain that she is alive to this day with many suggesting she may have been trafficked due to pictures that seemed to be of her that appeared on a sex worker’s website in 2005.
Fans have already noticed one major part of the story that is not included in the Netflix doc, namely the family being scammed for over $200,000 during their search for her.
Viewers of the documentary have also noted another major incident that was left out – her family having been found to have perpetuated ‘fraud on the court’.

This was as part of a major lawsuit that Amy’s took out against Royal Caribbean, the cruise liner they had been on when Amy disappeared.
They took out a lawsuit alleging negligence by Royal Caribbean in the handling of her disappearance from the cruise ship, and another for ‘wrongful death’.
This was despite their own widespread and adamant testimony claiming that she was still alive.
Iva and Ron Bradley, Amy’s parents, both took out the lawsuits and during discovery shared their correspondence with three witnesses who had claimed to have seen someone who ‘looked like Amy’, which supported their claims she had been taken from the boat under duress.

In reality, they had tips from over 100 people claiming she was living freely and safely, something which contradicted their claims that Royal Caribbean’s negligence had led her to be taken off the boat against her will.
While she has never been found or proven to have been taken off the boat, this was considered perjury by the Florida courts, and their claim was dismissed.
The Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Stuart Simons stated that they had given false answers to defence lawyers during depositions which are held under oath, stating they had made ‘numerous exaggerated claims’.
However, Ron and Iva claimed at the time they had withheld the information for good reason, stating they felt she was still alive and being held against her will.
They stated that this was the reason they had withheld the information and lied to the courts, in order to preserve the chance of her returning home.

The information, of course, made it to Reddit, with viewers shocked it had been left out of the Netflix doc.
When one commenter was shocked that the Bradleys may have 100 people saying they’d seen Amy alive, another replied saying: “100 tips. Probably most were not credible. The point is the parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit when they clearly believe her daughter is alive. The judge was correct to throw out the case.”
Another comment said: “Thank you! I rarely see this mentioned anywhere at all.”
A third said it absolutely ‘should have been mentioned’ in the doc.
