Superman stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have gone viral after appearing to continue a kiss scene after the director called cut.

Corenswet’s debut as Clark Kent received a largely positive reaction from fans and critics after its release last month, which is good news after the backlash of replacing The Witcher star Henry Cavill as the iconic comic-book hero.

However, online chatter about the film has since been overtaken by talk of the dynamic between Corenswet and his co-star Brosnahan, who plays love interest Lois Lane. This comes after a behind-the-scenes clip showing an intimate moment between their characters made the rounds online.

In the clip, which has been viewed 37 million times after being shared on X by user @godsandmortaIs, shows both Brosnahan lean in to peck Corenswet on the lips while in character.

Superman director James Gunn can then be heard saying ‘cut’, which is followed by Brosnahan leaning in for a second kiss just moments after.

Take a look at the moment below:

The seemingly innocent moment between two actors in character has since exploded across social media as people began to speculate wildly about the exact nature of Brosnahan and Corenswet’s relationship.

“How do people date actresses man,” wrote one person in response to the clip, while a second added: “I could never get married to an actor. Why you kissing after cut???”

However, others weren’t convinced the moment was anything concerning, as Brosnahan’s kiss comes very quickly after Gunn says ‘cut’, suggesting that she may not have had time to react before the second kiss.

“Yall trippin that ‘cut’ was unreactable, well under 18 frames fr,” penned a third person.

Curious fans then descended on the social media accounts belonging Brosnahan’s husband Jason Ralph, with one eagle-eyed user noticing the actor had liked a rather pointed comment about the situation, which had been left under a post on his Instagram account.

The comment reads: “It’s genuinely sad to see your career being tucked out to be remembered as a cuckold because your wife couldn’t handle herself with her co-actor. Like bro.. let’s have some self love and stand up for yourself man, leave her to be with him if she wants that much at the end of the day.”

The comment has since disappeared from Ralph’s post, the actor appears to have disabled commenting, however, it was promptly screenshotted and shared widely across X and Reddit.

Ralph is now facing backlash for ‘liking’ the comment, with the 39-year-old now being referred to as a ‘complete weirdo’ and ‘insecure’ over the whole debacle.

Not everyone has come down hard on Ralph, with some people suggesting he may be trolling fans by liking the comment or simply made a slip of the finger and accidentally liked the comment while scrolling – which is certainly something we’ve all been guilty of in the past.

LADbible has approached representatives of Brosnahan and Ralph for comment.
