The Shocking Confession of Titu Singh: Did a Boy Really Return from the Dead to Solve His Own Murder?

There’s also the problem of Titu’s birthday. While Titu’s father told Mills that the boy was born on Dec. 10, 1983, Mills claims that the only hospital records she was able to find matching the description of his birth would place his birthday on Dec. 11, 1982 — several months before Suresh’s death. Mills does concede that these hospital records could refer to another child’s birth.

Titu Singh Head Birthmark

Christian Urvoi/BBC/YouTubeTitu Singh had a birthmark on his head in the very spot where Suresh Verma was shot.

Consequently, many researchers say that Titu’s story could be a case of cryptomnesia. If this were true, Titu would simply be remembering stories he heard and recounting them as though they were personal memories.

This could also explain some of the more specific details. While Suresh’s family may have believed that they were simply asking Titu questions about Suresh’s life, they may have inadvertently revealed details about Suresh’s story that provided Titu more fodder to use as evidence of his reincarnation, consciously or otherwise.

Finally, as many of these details are being recounted after the fact, it’s possible that there was significant confirmation bias at play, where innocuous statements were misremembered and refined by erroneous memory to be further evidence of Titu’s claims.

Still, the intrigue surrounding this story alone is enough to keep people guessing about what really happened. Titu himself has not changed the broad strokes of his story, even giving a podcast interview in 2024 in which he doubled down on many details. Unfortunately, this is a tale that will likely remain a mystery.
