Despite subscribers hailing this movie as a ‘masterpiece’ that ‘stands the test of time’, it seems Netflix reckon this fan favourite has had its day.
Viewers have less than two weeks to watch the flick as many times as they can manage, as we’re going to have to bid it farewell on 15 April.
And once you find out what epic title that we soon have to say ta-ra to in the UK, you’ll understand why it’s such a tragedy for movie lovers on this side of the pond.
It’s……….The Wolf of Wall Street.
Apologies for the dramatics, but I thought the departure of one of Martin Scorsese‘s finest productions from the streaming platform deserved a ‘Wagatha Christie‘-style announcement.
It’s not the first time that Brits with a Netflix subscription have had to say goodbye to the 2013 box office hit, but it doesn’t mean it will be any easier this time around.
The Wolf of Wall Street has been removed and re-added several times over the years, as there is a mass exodus of movies on the site every so often.
Still, it’s unclear whether this upcoming removal of the flick – which stars huge names such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie and Jonah Hill – is temporary or permanent.
All we do know for sure is that people in the UK will no longer be able to watch The Wolf of Wall Street on Netflix in 12 days time.
Users are met with a reminder of this imminent deadline when they click on the film, while it’s also got that dreaded ‘leaving soon’ banner draped over it.

The news of The Wolf of Wall Street’s exit is set to come as quite the blow to fans, who have hailed the three-hour movie as a ‘masterpiece’ on Rotten Tomatoes.
Critics on the site have given it a respectable 79 per cent, while ordinary viewers topped that with 83 per cent – so it’s safe to say that most people will be sad to see the back of it on Netflix.
Discussing why it ranks so highly in their eyes, one film fan said: “I completely understand when people say this is their favourite movie of all time. Leo had some of the greatest acting of all time. Loved the emotion.”
Another added: “The Wolf of Wall Street is nothing short of a masterpiece, undoubtedly one of the greatest films of all time. This high-octane, wild ride through the corrupt world of finance is as brilliant as it is chaotic.
“A true cinematic triumph that redefines what a great movie can be. Simply put, The Wolf of Wall Street is an absolute classic, a triumph of storytelling, and a masterpiece that stands the test of time.”

A third chimed in: “Classic and novel at the same time. A staple of modern cinema.”
While a fourth wrote: “A cult classic and such an amazing cast that help portray the crazy over-exaggerated lifestyle of stocks and the crazy life in New York. Just a great film.”
The Wolf of Wall Street has certainly got an unwavering fan base who remain obsessed with it more than a decade after it’s release, but it looks like they’ll have to get their Jordan Belfort-fix elsewhere from now on.
The good news is, the film became available on Disney+ on 1 April – and the man who’s life it is based on had a hilarious response to the news.
