TV Star Defies Outrage After Revealing Intimate Nights With Couples on Cameras

Ever wonder what happens when you mix good old-fashioned British awkwardness with—let’s be frank—an almost Olympic-level openness in the bedroom? Well, “Open House: The Great Sex Experiment” has returned for its latest season, and if you thought reality TV had peaked, think again . This Channel 4 series is like Marmite for the soul: some viewers lap up every gasp and giggle, while others recoil as if someone suggested putting pineapple on their roast dinner . As a veteran SEO sleuth (who’s seen more algorithm swings than the contestants have partners), I can promise there are few shows that generate this much chatter, outrage, and—let’s face it—morbid curiosity .

But here’s the real kicker: Grace Florence, the show’s resident non-monogamist and self-proclaimed “part of the furniture,” has a message for the critics—and, spoiler alert, it’s not just “mind your own business.” Her bold foray into polyamorous TV antics might polarize the public, but there’s something weirdly heartwarming about her mission to change the narrative around open relationships while wrangling trolls and, well, the occasional family revelation . So, is it possible for a candid reality show about love, lust, and letting go of old rules to spark real understanding—or at least, give you a few watercooler moments that’ll outlast your lunch break? Maybe it’s time to peek behind the curtains…

A ‘resident non-monogamist’ on Open House: The Great Sex Experiment has shared a message to critics of the controversial show.

The Channel 4 series, which sees committed couples explore the concept of open relationships, returned to screens back in June, and it made for some quite explosive TV.

Viewers watched one couple announce they were ‘overwhelmed’ by the reality of polyamory, while one fella vomited at the mere thought of his other half sleeping with another man.

Another bloke also pumped the brakes in the middle of an orgy with three women, so it’s safe to say the latest series of Open House: The Great Sex Experiment was very eventful.

The reality TV show has proved to be like Marmite among the British public, as although some people have loved watching the couple’s journeys unfold, others aren’t too keen.

Although the content is fairly graphic, it’s all above board and Ofcom-approved, which is why the series’ stars don’t understand why people have a problem with it.

Grace Florence is one of the ‘resident non-monogamists’ on Open House, meaning that she is one of the people who joins curious couples in the bedroom to give them a taste of a polyamorous lifestyle.

She’s pretty much part of the furniture by this point, as she’s been a part of the show since the first series aired in 2022.

The TV star, 28, explained she earned her spot on Open House after a pal ‘recommended her to a producer’, as she’s been leading a non-monogamous lifestyle since her early 20s.

“I’ve always been open with my sexuality, so I didn’t hesitate,” Grace told The Sun of joining the cast. “In my teens, I had a ‘normal’ three-year-relationship with a guy.

“Then, in my 20s, I started experimenting with women and began identifying as pansexual, which means I’m attracted to all genders, and as a ‘solo polyamorist’ – somebody who has multiple intimate relationships, but maintains a single lifestyle. It suited me, as I like to live my own life, but I love having lots of connections with different people.”

The adult entertainer, from Nottingham, explained she kept her role on the show quiet from her family at first, but the cat soon came out of the bag.

Her grandad Frank – who Grace is a carer for – spotted her in a promotion for the first season of Open House and rumbled her, although she says the 83-year-old ‘thought it sounded brilliant’.

“I’ve always been honest with him about my lifestyle, and he’s so supportive, as are my friends,” she continued. “My dad, who is religious, has vowed to never watch it, though! I’ve slept with a lot of people across the three series – a lot more sex goes on behind the scenes than ever makes it into the broadcast.”

There’s been both ‘a lot of fun’ and a fair amount of ‘awkward moments’ throughout filming, according to Grace, but overall, she has loved her experience on the show.

She revealed she is currently ‘seeing a woman on and off’, who has also been very supportive of her risqué antics on screen – as they’ve ‘encouraged her to be more adventurous and have flings with other people’.

But as we all know, being brave enough to take part in a reality TV show of this genre isn’t all fun and games.

Social media users have inevitably had a lot to say about Open House, and Grace explained that although most people send her ‘positive’ messages, ‘there are always some who say nasty things’.

“But fellow resident Emily and I look through them together and just laugh,” she said of messages from trolls who target the cast online.

Grace said she’s fine taking some flak if it shines a spotlight on non-monogamous relationships and, in turn, helps people who may be curious about exploring the lifestyle for themselves.

“I want people who are interested in exploring this lifestyle to know there’s a massive community out there and you’re not alone,” she added. “I’ve met so many lovely souls and life-long friends doing the show, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Open House is helping to change the narrative and stereotypes around these types of lifestyles, and I’m so proud to be a part of it.”
