A two-time Bafta-winning show dubbed ‘a highpoint in British drama’ by critics is available to stream once again.

Any show starring the likes of Stephen Graham and Sean Bean is probably worth a watch anyway, but with it receiving a near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, it quickly becomes a must-watch.

For those of us who simply don’t have the time or energy to get our teeth into long epics like The Sopranos or The Walking Dead, this BBC drama might be the perfect length – two seasons each featuring three episodes, all roughly an hour-long.

Anyway, it follows Mark Cobden, played by Bean, a school teacher who accidentally kills a cyclist after he drives home drunk.

We learn about his time behind bars, and see this rather likeable character get targeted by ‘one of the most dangerous inmates’, and he has to learn to defend himself and confront his bully.

Meanwhile, prison guard Eric McNally, aka Stephen Graham, faces a choice between his principles and his family when he is blackmailed by an inmate.

The show’s called Time and time is exactly what everyone has for it, with Rotten Tomatoes scoring it at 96 percent while IMDb also gave it a monster score of 8.2.

Film critic Anne Brodie described the show as ‘realistic’, ‘watchable’ and ‘well-made’, with her review read: “Superb performances draw us deeply into these characters and their heartbreaking stories. Time is realistic and well-made, and despite all the darkness and extremes, it is watchable, humane and teachable.”

While top film critic Wenlei Ma also saw it that way, writing: “The first series was truly a highpoint in British drama and this powerful follow-up is worthy of the same consideration.”

If you manage to watch the first season, the second is equally as gripping and stars Bella Ramsay, Jodie Whittaker and Tamara Lawrance.

The show’s synopsis reads: “Told through the lens of three very different inmates, Time is a moving and high-stakes portrayal of life inside a women’s prison.

Ramsay plays Kelsey, who is struggling with a drug addiction, while Whittaker plays mum Orla, who has been put behind bars for fiddling her electricity meter.

Meanwhile, Lawrance portrays Abi who has a life sentence for murder.
