The Confederate States of America minted a few coins during the Civil War, and the 1861 Confederate Half Dollar is one of the most famous. Only four originals are known to exist today, making them an extraordinary piece of American history. These coins were minted in New Orleans after it was captured by the Confederacy.

The 1907 Ultra High Relief Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is another masterpiece designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Its ultra-high relief design gave it incredible detail, but it was too difficult to mass-produce, so only a few were minted.

Because of its beauty and scarcity, collectors are willing to pay over $3 million for this coin, making it a treasure for any numismatist.
