A man who went on Norwegian Cruise Line’s infamous Big Nude Boat trip, run by nudist travel company Bare Necessities, has revealed the most surprising element of his trip.

Nude cruises have received a lot of publicity of late, mostly because of the sheer nosiness of those of us who would probably never choose to attend one – but not all is as it seems.

A popular misconception is that nude cruises are similar to the equally popular topics of spicy cruises or swinger cruises, but that’s simply not the case.

In fact, nude cruises are just like regular cruises, but consisting of passengers who prefer to take things back to nature and forgo clothing when the circumstances allow it.

As this man puts it, ‘a nude cruise brings the skin-comfortable crowd together.’

Taking to Reddit to share all the details of his trip, the man shared one aspect that might leave you scratching your head.

“For being a nude cruise, you’d be surprised that most people, 85 percent plus, wore clothing a lot of the time,” he wrote.

It comes to something when the most surprising thing about a nude cruise is people wearing clothing, but the clue is in the name really.

The passenger went on to explain that all restaurants on the ship required guests to wear clothes, while some even expected formal attire. Having to pack fancy clothes for a naked cruise is the last thing you’d expect.

“The buffet was clothing optional, with most all guests with something on from the waist down,” he continued. “I did find having fully naked people in the buffet line a bit cringe-worthy.”

So, when did the clothes come off? Well, the majority of guests could be found sunbathing in the deck or in the pools and hot tubs while at sea, and pretty much everyone would do this in the nude.

The ship even visited Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island in the Caribbean and everyone attended nude there too.

“At dance parties, nothing like dancing without restrictions except for some accessories, and yeah, LED night was luminous,” the man continued.

“There was even a nudist musical couple from France that performed on two nights of the dance party. Then some of the excursions were also nude.”

So, there you have it, even a nude cruise isn’t exactly a free for all for getting your bits out, but whatever floats your boat.
