Google Earth captured this area of land on the big island of Hawaii that was completely ravaged by lava years ago. As you can see, new roads have been built around the dried lava, but at one point in history, this area was bustling.

This Mysterious Desert Pattern Is Actually an Art Project

In 2014, a Reddit user uploaded this strange Google Earth image. The mysterious desert pattern is located in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt and looked to span hundreds of feet. People immediately chimed in and offered explanations, most of the alien kind.

It turns out, however, that this is actually a land art project called Desert Breath. The crop-circle-like piece was created by the D.A.ST. Arteam.
