A diagnosed sociopath and former Miss World contestant has spoken out about one feature to look out for that could indicate someone has the condition.

Australian model Kanika Batra-Matheson has taken to her TikTok page (@ogkanikabatra) to raise awareness of the health condition.

According to the NHS, sociopaths have a severe form of antisocial personality disorder (APD), which relates to irresponsible and impulsive behaviour.

Sociopaths tend to be ‘manipulative, deceitful, reckless and will not consider other people’s feelings’, adds the health service.

In a video from last year, the content creator revealed the various techniques people can use to ‘spot fellow sociopaths’.

Pay attention to the eyes

“The first thing I look out for is eyes,” Kanika said, noting that sociopaths ‘have dead eyes’.

“I had to teach myself to blink more frequently so I wouldn’t freak people out,” she added.

“There aren’t many sociopaths around, let me tell you that.

“It’s only one to four percent of the population, and successful sociopaths are very hard to spot.

“Just like I s**t test narcissists, I can s**t test sociopaths.”

Say something ridiculous

Kanika recommends saying the most random thing that comes into your mind when you’re with a suspected sociopath.

“The way I do this is by saying something absolutely ridiculous and seeing if they’ll mirror me,” she said.

“I tell them that I spend my free time knitting. Somehow they knit as well, or their uncle does.”

Bring up a range of emotions

“I also bring up a range of different emotions and see how they react to them,” Kanika said.

“Since lying is second nature to us, I try to catch them out in one. The mask of sanity and kindness slips very fast at this point.”

DV counsellor Danielle Radin (@danielleradin) has also revealed three other signs you need to look out for when you’re around a potential sociopath.

Not yawning is apparently one of the ‘top body language signs’, she said in one of her TikTok videos.

“Next, see how much they’re blinking. Sociopaths and psychopaths have to teach themselves to blink more,” Danielle explained.

Being able to cry on cue could be another danger sign, as she adds: “Lastly, they can cry on cue, especially sociopathic women, but there will not be wet tears.

“So, try to wipe their tears away when they’re crying and see if they’re even there. This one always baffles me, by the way.

“How do you cry on cue? I can’t do it.”
