There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to figure out an optical illusion, and this one takes the cake.

While some people might enjoy tapping into their brains to have a go at solving things that look impossible to take on, others can’t stand it (me).

So, when a weird optical illusion cropped up on Reddit, there were a few mixed responses.

However, there are some fun pictures that are easy to get to the bottom of.

For instance, there was once a puzzle which looked like a floor of pebbles at first, until people realised there was an engagement ring in there.

There’s also the ones where you need to spot the sniper, which feels impossible ’til you clock him and then he’s all you can see.

Or, there’s engaging puzzles with hidden clues that you’d need to figure out the to unravel the message.

See, these are great things that people can’t get enough of.

But this picture?

It’s a head f*ck.

Count the people and then count the legs... (Reddit)

So, it’s an image of what looks to be six normal women sitting together on a sofa.

However, take a closer look and see if you can figure out what’s wrong with this image.

That’s right (I’m going to assume you looked properly)! There are six women in this picture but it looks like there’s only five pairs of legs.

At first glance, the third woman in the picture looks like she’s just a torso with no legs, but plenty of people on Reddit have disagreed over what they’re looking at which would explain it.

One person asserted: “The first girl is sitting over the second girl’s legs.”

Someone else agreed, adding: “The second girl’s legs are behind the first girl’s legs.”

Another user provided a very detailed theory, stating: “Number one has her legs crossed, no tear in the knee. Number two has only one leg visible, the tear is in her knee.

“Those legs are blending together. (Follow that tear down, there’s a split where there’s a sock on the right and not on the left. Number two has a tear in her knee and a visible white sock).”

Another Reddit user focused in on the girl sitting second from the left, stating: “Her pants are the same colour, and almost blend. You can see the difference where there is a bit of sock/skin showing above the boot.”

Plenty said that the number of legs in this picture ‘doesn’t add up’, but that’s part of the fun of the internet.

If you want another optical illusion to entertain yourself with, take a look at this picture and tell us what numbers you see.
