What’s Driving This Bizarre New ‘Hamstering’ Trend in Cars? Experts Are Stunned.

Ever stumble upon a trend so bizarre, so out-there, that you just have to wonder – who even comes up with this stuff? Enter ‘hamstering’ – no, it’s not some cute rodent obsession, but rather a bedroom escapade involving a car sunroof and a whole lot of adventurous anatomy. While some adventurous souls opt for spicy cruises to heat up their relationships, others prefer a more grounded, uh, approach with a sunroof and some serious balance skills. If you thought keeping up with trends like ‘hotwifing’ or ‘Shrekking’ was wild enough, get ready: this one might just redefine your views on both hamsters and hatchbacks. Brace yourself – and maybe check if that car’s in park before you dive in. LEARN MORE.

You might think that ‘hamstering’ is just another one of these bizarre trends people are into.

But while some folks are heading on a spicy cruise to improve their relationship, others are taking more of an, errr, on-land approach.

From ‘hotwifing’ and ‘Shrekking’ to ‘sploshing’ and ‘submarining’, there’s a countless number of new sex things to keep up with.

But I’m afraid that this particular bedroom trend is one you will not forget – and I can only apologise for what you’re about to learn.

First things first, you need two people, and one of them must ideally have a penis.

Once that’s checked off your list, you’ll next need a car with a sunroof – and sufficient privacy so no one knows how much of a freak you are in and out of the sheets.

What is ‘hamstering’?

So, the reason why it’s called ‘hamstering’ is because it evokes a hamster drinking water through a spout.

Lovely image, I know.

In human terms, however, it’s the sexual act of a person with a penis lying on top of a sunroof with their partner inside… you know… doing stuff.

Apparently, some TikTokers have been raving about the trend. As for the rest of you, you’ll no longer be able to look at a sunroof or a hamster in the same way.

The worry over ‘hamstering’

Zachary Zane, author of Boyslut: A Memoir and Manifesto, reckons people are only trying it out because it’s a trend on TikTok, not because it’ll actually be pleasurable.

He tells Mashable that a lot will depend on the height, weight and strength of the person lying on the sunroof.

If one of those factors is off, you don’t want to be slipping off the car when… you know.

“I had never heard of this position before last week,” Zane admitted.

“But I bet you a few very sexually adventurous people are now trying it out and seeing if it’s feasible.

“These people aren’t likely trying it because it’s pleasurable, it’s more to say that they’ve done it.”

Amy Baldwin and April Lampert, of the Shameless Sex podcast, noted how uncomfortable it could be.

“The giver will likely have to contort their body and their neck in a way that may be really uncomfortable and unsustainable for a long period of time,” they explained.

Despite their concerns, the pair acknowledged that ‘sex is intended to be fun’ and it could work for you by offering ‘a sense of newness, adventurousness, and playful exploration’.

No thanks.
