Of all the things that celebrities face backlash for online, eating fruit is perhaps one of the most surprising ones yet.

However, Benny Blanco has landed himself in hot water with some folks after sharing a video on TikTok eating some delicious looking blueberries from a box which he claims set him back $200.

For that price, you’d be hoping they were similar to the ones that turned Violet Beauregarde into a literal blueberry in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory but sadly they just appeared to be slightly bigger and better tasting than the ones you can find for £1.50 in most Tescos.

Blanco, who is known for his skills as a record producer and songwriter, has faced a bit of a tough time on the internet recently, which may well stem from jealousy over the fact he’s engaged to billionaire beauty Selena Gomez.

He already faced some stick on Valentine’s Day with a rather cheesy gesture to the Only Murders in the Building star, and he gave his fiancée a rash after they kissed for the first time.

Although things have clearly got a lot better since then, he’s now essentially been cancelled for eating expensive fruit, in a time where people across the world are seriously struggling to afford basic necessities such as rent, bills and groceries.

Blanco was certainly impressed by the pricey blueberries, which he dubbed ‘a f**king meal’, ‘f**king huge’ and ‘delicious’.

He asked in awe over the chunky fruit, which was seemingly sent to him for free by a PR: “Can you guys even see the scale of this?”

After sharing the video of him enjoying the blueberries, he certainly split opinion in the comment section.

“Why do the rich get all the PR packages and stuff… also most people endorsing things are getting to be so tone deaf…. We are out here can’t pay for groceries anymore….,” one comment read.

“I really like this guy, but man, the rich are clearly not taxed enough,” another commenter wrote.

Another upset fan commented: “Meanwhile people can’t afford life, but here we are watching a rich dude eat $200 blueberries. Like how is this real life?”

However, some fans defended the music producer, and to be fair to him, you’d rather he spent his money on healthy things like fruit compared to the thousands some celebrities probably drop on drugs and alcohol.

Given how many bangers Blanco has written and produced, you’ve got to say he deserves a little treat, and personally I see no reason why him eating blueberries in a video is in any way worse than the usual antics millionaire celebrities get up to with their money.
