50 Unexpected Truths Women Raised Without Men Reveal About Life With Guys
I thought guys just naturally had less emotions. When you grow up with men calling *you* overly emotional and refusing to cry at moments where they really should have been, you just assume it’s natural. It’s not like they were telling me they secretly wanted to cry. They just made fun of my emotions, so I assumed they didn’t have any. And when I was a kid, anger just wasn’t viewed as an emotion so that didn’t count.
After I learned that they do, indeed, feel emotions just like women do after a friend very drunkenly cried on my shoulder, I then had to learn that they were never taught to process those emotions like I was and that’s why it presents so differently in them. So when they DO get emotional, it presents as lashing out and anger and violence.
He doesn’t want to chat when one of us is using the bathroom! I’m used to continuing a conversation even when on the toilet, but he is weirded out by it.
Also he’s SO tidy. .
I grew up with 3 sisters and when I went off to college I was in a mostly male friend group and I could not believe how mean they were to each other. Like almost to the point of egging friends on to do incredibly dangerous things.
Dude runs at like 98 degrees constant heat output sharing a bed is basically sleeping next to a human furnace especially in summer where i’m kicking blankets off and he’s burrowing deeper into them like a mole. but honestly now that we’re older i kinda miss it because my side of the bed is always freezing and he radiates warmth like a space heater that actually works so yeah annoying during july but nice during january lol.
Kinda similar; I went to an all girls catholic highschool for my entire secondary school education. I forgot that I was somehow supposed to defer to men and not be my full authentic self in front of dudes so that they’d like me or whatever nonsense applies there, so when I started university right after HS it was insanely weird to me watching girls who attended co-Ed high schools behave around our male peers in and out of class. I legitimately had no idea women make theirselves smaller around male counterparts (for many, many reasons), because I wasn’t exposed to those behaviours in my formative teen years so I didn’t know I was supposed to, should or could.
There is no amount of filth that they won’t live in because they can’t be bothered with cleaning.
**editing to make my point. This is** my personal experience of almost 2.5 decades. If you have a problem with what I have said, it says a lot more about you than it does about me.**.
How they can’t seem to concentrate in more than one thing at once.
I married the smartest man I’ve ever met… and somehow he can’t talk to me and do the dishes properly at the same time. His hands just stop moving whenever he starts engaging in conversation. And he only noticed that it happens when I pointed it out, after one year of marriage.
Mindblowing.
The constant amount of mucus they produce. a trip to an ent or an allergy diagnosis could help them immensely stop hacking, gurgling, sniffing, snoring, and spitting so much. yuck.
How much easier it is to coexist with men. They do not get upset about every little domestic situation.
Inability to find things. What they consider cleaning. Oddly enough less gross then I thought. He is fairly clean but detail cleaning like dusty and cleaning blind or fans etc I don’t even thought he considered before we met.
That they have a poop schedule, and sometimes can’t leave the house or go do something if they haven’t pooped yet.
The strive to just do the bare minimum. I’m in college and I know 1 guy who sleeps on a bare mattress on the floor and another who uses paper plates so he doesn’t have to do the dishes.
His shower turns my bathroom into a sauna. mirror is fogged up for hours and my hair looks like a frizzy mess.
Their feet! They are all weird and splayed out. I thought Michaelangelo’s David just used a load of extra marble below the ankle for stability, but no, y’all have flippers. Who knew?
(to clarify, i had a stepdad, growing up, but never saw him without shoes and socks).
I grew up with mostly women around me and we weren’t allowed to relax or enjoy self indulgence until all the chores and tasks were completed for the day. The amount of men that want to relax or game or nap and then will get to the chores and tasks later always shocks me. Like how are you not thinking about all the stuff you have to do later the whole time you’re playing a video game? Or enjoy watching a game? Or nap if there’s still work to be done?
I was not prepared for them always having their hands in their pants just laying there 😂ðŸ˜.
