Fans Stunned by Unseen Photo of Big John Fisher and ‘Bosh’ Star—Can You Even Recognize Them?
Remember the first time you saw “the Boshfather” tear through a Chinese takeaway, all grins and catchphrases, making “bosh” echo across the internet? You’d have never guessed that underneath that jolly exterior—and world-class chopstick technique—was once a teenage powerhouse who could’ve moonlighted as an extra in Rocky IV. What turns a social media sensation into a British cult hero, and more curiously, what does that kind of fame do to someone, physically and otherwise? When I look at Big John Fisher’s journey, I see more than viral videos and showbiz snaps. I see someone who’s reinvented himself, not once but twice—outboxing the ordinary and now, with a little help from a strongman, wrestling back his own health. There’s something oddly heartening, a bit bonkers, and ridiculously relatable about it all—because really, aren’t we all just a few Chinese takeaways away from greatness or calamity? If you want the wild ride of his transformation—complete with white trousers, Brit Awards, and a side of motivational sweat—well, you’re in for a treat. LEARN MORE.
‘The Boshfather’ has become a British cult hero, but he used to look a whole lot different.
‘Big John’ Fisher has become a renowned social media presence thanks to his endless positivity, his exceptional Chinese ordering skills and, of course, the mighty bosh.
He first became a presence on the internet in 2022 but has amassed over 800,500 followers on Instagram in just a few short years and now travels the world meeting his adoring public.
From starting off as a niche social media personality to absolutely smashing his appearance with Jack Whitehall at the Brit Awards, Big John’s popularity continues to rise.
Now he’s shared an image of himself before his meteoric rise to fame, and it’s been an astonishing transformation.
John Fisher’s remarkable transformation
Big John is currently enjoying a holiday in the south of France, but he took time out of eating ‘le hotdogs’ to post an image from way back in the day.
Now 52, John shared a picture of himself when he was a teenager, and he was looking absolutely stacked.

Posing with white trousers and a black belt but no top, Big John showed off his ripped physique in a picture which he brushed up.
He wrote on the post: “Myself aged 18. Second photo restored bosh.”
Fisher owed his muscles to the fact he used to be a boxer at amateur level. His son, the Romford Bull Johnny Fisher, has gone on to follow in his foot steps and made a name for himself in the ring.
Though he’s still enjoying his hefty meals and takeaways, Big John has been making a big effort in 2026 to cut down on weight.
Taking to X at the end of May, he revealed how strongman Eddie Hall took him under his wing and helped him lose an astonishing amount.

“Nine months in I have now lost 36kg,” he wrote.”
“@eddiehallWSM saw me and told me I would be dead in five years if I didn’t change and he saw me after I already lost 20kg.
“Under his guidance I’m getting there just with simple basic instruction. I still have a Chinese but just roasted meats now.
“I have lost 36kg so far the last 15kg working with Eddie. The man is a true Inspiration and helped me so much.
“The last 15kg were tougher to come off snd the next 15 tougher still but Eddie’s plan will work. Bosh.”
