Apple Unveils Game-Changing Folding iPhone Duo—Is It Worth the Record-Breaking Price?
So Apple just dropped a bombshell at their latest event – a folding phone they insist is like getting two gadgets in one. Imagine unfolding your phone to tablet size, then snapping it shut to a hefty handheld device – fancy, huh? They call it the iPhone Duo, and trust me, it’s nothing like those awkward flip phones that feel like two phones awkwardly glued together. With a sleek titanium frame and screens both inside and out, it’s practically a tech marvel ready to cradle in your hand (if your hands are ready for it). But here’s the real kicker – it’s Apple’s priciest phone yet, clocking just shy of two grand. Are we finally ready to fold our phones without folding our wallets in half? Let’s dive into what makes this gadget tick and whether it’s truly the future in your pocket…
Apple have unveiled their new folding phone at their latest event, and they claim it’ll do the job of two gadgets in one.
At the end of their announcement where they’d unveiled the new iPhone 18 and the price rises coming with the new piece of technology, Apple decided to ‘Columbo’ us by saying they had one more thing to show, the iPhone Duo.
When unfolded it looks more like the size of a tablet, but when folded up it’s more the size of a large phone.
Saying that most other flip phones feel like ‘two phones awkwardly stuck together’, Apple said they would have an internal and external screen for when you had it open or closed.
The titanium-made phone is pretty big in your hand when folded over, and it’ll be even larger if you unfold it to take up more space in your hands.

With even more screen to grab your attention there’ll be increasingly large competition for your eyeballs as they all fight for your attention span.
Apple boasted the Duo had ‘up to 40 percent higher stiffness’ compared to other devices on the market, and said it meant that the new iPhone wouldn’t become damaged over time when it was being folded and unfolded.
On the inside it’s got an A20 Pro chip for performance, and has their most advanced technology stuffed inside a foldable design, and it’s going to be eSim only.
Two batteries are inside the device which Apple says gives you up to 24 hours per charge when using both of the screens, and they claim you can charge it up halfway in just a matter of minutes.
While the camera has been adapted so the phone can be folded over it’s still of the same calibre that comes with the iPhone 18 range.

It’s packed with a lot of technology (Apple)
The outer screen display is 90 percent the size of the iPhone 18 Pro, and the inner display is 7.6 inches, while you’ll unlock it with a fingerprint sensor.
You’re probably wondering what all of this costs, and since this is the biggest display the iPhone has ever had and with their latest technology.
As such it’s their most expensive phone ever, which will cost $1,999, so that’s just shy of two grand.
Preorders start on 16 October, and they go on sale on 23 October.
Both the 18 Pro and the 18 Pro Max, also announced today, were both $100 higher than previously released models as they’re going on sale for $1,199 and $1,299 respectively.
