Ancient Odyssey Secret Unearthed: 1,700-Year-Old Manuscript Fragment Discovered in University Library Stuns Scholars
Although de Kreij first found the fragment in 2024, the university only announced the discovery now, ahead of his upcoming book on its collection, entitled, Hieratic, Demotic, Greek, and Coptic Texts in the Utrecht University Collection.
“I have the best job in the world,” de Kreij told RTV Utrecht, remarking on his incredible discovery. “I am a treasure hunter. Every day you find something nice. This is one of them.”
