AOC Exposes Shocking Missteps at Cornell Amid Explosive Gang Assault Lawsuit Fallout

Is it just me, or does it feel like the darker corners of elite universities keep getting darker? At Cornell, where autumn leaves should be the biggest worry, a chilling story unfolds—one that’s so deeply unsettling, it demands we ask how long this culture of silence and negligence will be tolerated. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t hold back when she slammed the university for what she called a protected culture of sexual assault and exploitation. It’s downright infuriating that a woman reportedly lost her education while the institution barely lifted a finger in response to a horrific gang assault lawsuit involving members of the Chi Phi fraternity. How many more “lackluster penalties” will it take before “Never again” becomes more than just a slogan? If you thought campus life was about lectures and late-night pizza runs, think again—it’s time to shine a harsh light on these systemic failures. LEARN MORE

Ocasio-Cortez, who represents New York‘s 14th District in Congress, spoke at the school’s campus in Ithaca, New York.

“I want to be clear that the culture of r–e, sexual assault, and pedophilia is protected in elite institutions across the United States, including Cornell University,” she said.

The politician also called the culture surrounding the incident “one of the pressing issues” as she criticized the school for allegedly allowing a woman to “lose her education.”

“Never again,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Her declaration follows a lawsuit filed by a woman against several members of Chi Phi fraternity. The woman alleged that she was invited to a frat house at the university while intoxicated before being assaulted for hours by brothers of the organization.

She claimed several men pressured her into taking drugs, including ketamine. As a result, she alleged she became incapacitated while the men took advantage of her state.

In response, the school allegedly offered lackluster penalties.
