Chris Watts has reportedly called off his jailhouse wedding after ‘receiving a message from God’ – and a stern word from his mother.
The convicted killer, 41, is said to have dumped Lizzie Henderson just weeks after applying to marry her within the prison system, despite the jilted woman already referring to herself as Lizzie Watts.
He cut ties with the real estate agent as he reckons that ‘God wants him to remain single’, according to the Daily Mail.
Watts is currently behind bars at Dodge Correctional Institution (DCI) in Wisconsin, where he is serving five life sentences for the murders of his pregnant wife and their two daughters.
He horrifically strangled Shanann, 34, to death in August 2018 before smothering their little girls Bella, four, and Celeste, three, at their family home in Frederick, Colorado.

The dad buried his wife in a shallow grave before dumping his children inside crude oil barrels and had hoped to start a new life with his mistress, Nichol Kessinger.
Chillingly, Watts even went as far as to give TV interviews begging for his family’s safe return while playing the part of a concerned husband and father.
Since being spared from the death penalty and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in November 2018, details about his jail romances have routinely hit the headlines.
He has received a host of letters from female admirers despite his terrifying track record, and during this time, he also struck up a relationship with a woman named Lizzie Henderson.
The Daily Mail reported that she visited the murderer in prison 20 times last year, while spending Christmas Day alongside him in December 2024. Henderson is believed to have moved from Ohio to Wisconsin to be closer to him.

The publication claimed that people had witnessed the pair smooching during one meeting and that they were heard exchanging ‘I love yous’.
Henderson is alleged to have filed an application to legally change her name in September last year – and although the details of her request were not made public, relatives claimed she had been calling herself Lizzie Watts.
It then emerged that she and Watts intended to get married behind bars.
When quizzed about their romance, Henderson told the Mail she understood it would be perceived as ‘weird‘, while telling the outlet of how they met: “How things began is between me, him and God.”
Now, it appears as though religion is what has driven a wedge between them, as Watts reportedly told his supposed bride-to-be that God instructed him to dump her.
Two sources are said to have confirmed the end of their relationship, while claiming that the disapproval of Watts’ family also played a part in the break-up.

It is alleged that his mother Cindy ‘never warmed up to’ Henderson, as an insider close to the family said: “Chris would never marry someone who his mother didn’t approve of. Not even in jail.”
The Mail reported that ‘no one was on board’ with Watts and Henderson’s relationship, as the source added: “And Chris listens to his family.”
Watts is said to have told his jilted bride that he no longer feels ‘peace’ about their romance and thinks God is telling them to go their separate ways.
The source added: “If Chris says that God wants him to do something, he’ll do it. And I guess God wanted him to remain single.”
Henderson previously told the Mail that Watts ‘knows how she feels’ about his horrific crimes, saying: “I don’t know all the people involved but I would want to respect them.”
According to criminologist David Wilson, the term to describe people who have an attraction to serial killers and other dangerous criminals is called hybristophilia, or ‘Bonnie and Clyde syndrome’.
He reckons that the main reason behind why someone may experience this feeling is control – while some people might have had a traumatic childhood or possess a desire to gain attention.
