Elizabeth Holmes Claims Pregnancy Timing Is ‘Pure Coincidence’ Amid Jail Avoidance Accusations
Elizabeth Holmes—the name that echoes through Silicon Valley boardrooms and courtroom drama alike—is back in the spotlight. But this time, not for a tech breakthrough, rather for a jaw-dropping, record-shattering documentary that’s stirring quite the media frenzy. Imagine this: a woman who promised to revolutionize blood testing, only to find herself wrapped up in a $9 billion web of fraud, now a cinematic sensation—and trust me, it’s not your typical documentary snooze fest. Titled You Can See Everything, this film peels back the curtain on Holmes’ final days before prison, and if you thought her story couldn’t get any stranger, wait until you hear about the perfectly timed pregnancies and prison calls that add layers to this real-life thriller. Curious why this bizarre saga is raking in rave reviews and Oscar buzz? Buckle up—it’s a wild ride through ambition, deception, and a record $15 million opening weekend that’s got everyone talking.
Elizabeth Holmes, the founder and convicted fraudster of blood testing company Theranos, is the focus of media scrutiny once again due to a record-breaking new documentary.
You Can See Everything, a brand-new documentary from Primetime director Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder, follows Holmes in the days prior to her being taken to jail for defrauding investors of her company to the tune of $9 billion.
The documentary is breaking records, currently sitting as the highest rated film in Letterboxd and IMDb’s history and looking primed to become the first doc to ever be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.
Holmes’ crimes and subsequent trial are bizarre, with it taking seven years from the investigation beginning for the former CEO to be put behind bars.
One of the major delays in this was the fraudster’s two pregnancies, which curiously took place both in the weeks leading up to her trial and right around her sentencing hearing.
This led to allegations that she purposely timed her pregnancies to successfully delay her trial, with the recent birth of her second child a major argument used by her lawyers in trying to fight the ten year prison sentence she eventually received.
Holmes however denied that this was the case in an interview from prison with PEOPLE Magazine, saying: “I know how the optics look, but I always wanted to be a mother.
“I wanted to have children, be a mom. I truly did not think I would ever be convicted or found guilty. I kept talking to my lawyers and they also assured me we would never get this far.”
“It wasn’t planned and I can’t worry about what others think… It’s just when the timing happened.”

Holmes is the focus of You Can See Everything (A24)
Nathan Fielder, who lived with Holmes and her partner Billy Evans in the weeks leading up to her imprisonment, has revealed that Holmes actually called him from prison following the release of the brand new documentary.
Speaking to Wired magazine, Fielder revealed the details about the bizarre conversation, saying that she recently reached out after not calling him in over six months, saying he had not heard from her at all.
She called to ask how he was doing, with Fielder explaining: “I asked her if she had seen any stuff about the film coming out and how she felt about it.
“She told me she had seen some stuff, but most things she just isn’t seeing, so she’s heard things, but she hasn’t really read anything. And then, at the end, she said to me – ‘I trust you.’ I said, ‘OK, thanks.’”
You Can See Everything has debuted with a massive opening for a documentary, earning $15 million on its opening domestic weekend.
