From Doubt to Stardom: How One Son’s Unlikely Career as a Beetlejuice Impersonator Forced His Parents to Rethink Everything

Is there any sweeter revenge than proving your parents wrong, decked out in black-and-white stripes while hamming it up for tourists on Hollywood Boulevard? As Aaron Traylor stares triumphantly into the sun-soaked chaos of L.A., I can’t help but picture every overbearing mom and skeptical dad hilariously reevaluating their ban on childhood dreams—not to mention their stance on Beetlejuice cosplay at family dinners . I mean, who gets the last laugh: the parents who confiscated the blazer, or the guy who rakes in ten bucks a day serving up supernatural schtick? Dreams, doubted, can become the stuff of legend—or at least Instagram semi-fame . So, the next time someone tells you to quit practicing your “It’s showtime!” in your room, remember Aaron… and maybe ask yourself: what’s the exchange rate on parental crow these days? For the full story, and a few more giggles, LEARN MORE.

LOS ANGELES—Smiling to himself as he reflected on all the years his mother and father had discouraged him from chasing his dream, local man Aaron Traylor told reporters Friday that his parents had been forced to eat crow ever since he made it as a Beetlejuice impersonator. “They told me I needed to be studying instead of spending countless hours practicing ‘It’s showtime!’ in my bedroom—but who’s the ghost with the most now?” said Traylor, adding that his parents must be embarrassed to have banned his black-and-white-striped blazer from the house now that he was pulling in upwards of $10 a day posing with tourists on Hollywood Boulevard. “I sometimes imagine them looking at my Instagram with its 102 followers and its promo for the three fright nights at Cedar Point Shopping Centre I’ll be working this Halloween. They’re thinking, ‘Wow. He did this all on his own. Imagine if we’d helped him.’ Well, they didn’t, and guess what? All the other street buskers know my name. From now on, if Mom and Dad want to see me, they’ll have to say my name three times and show me some respect.” When reached for comment, Traylor’s parents told reporters that while they were disappointed in their son, he was still young enough to change course and impersonate Freddy Krueger.
