Lizzie Borden is one of the most infamous female killers of all time. Yet she was never actually convicted of the murder of her dad and stepmother and was actually acquitted of the crime.
Borden will be the focus of Netflix’s Monster, a series which has previously seen seasons on Jeffrey Dahmer, the Menendez Brothers, and most recently Charlie Hunnam as Ed Gein.
Hunnam is returning for the new season, titled The Lizzie Borden Story, where he will play Borden’s father Andrew who was brutally killed with an axe in his home just hours after his wife Abby was murdered in the same fashion. Ella Beatty will play Lizzie in the show.
Lizzie was eventually acquitted of this crime due to the lack of a murder weapon, but many historians believe to this day that she was responsible for their deaths.

True crime aficionados are well known for their morbid curiosity and desire to find out every detail about a case, something that is certain to be true for the Borden murders once Netlfix’s series releases, but there aren’t many other high-profile murders where you can book a Bed and Breakfast at the very spot where it took place. In the case of Andrew and Abby Borden however, you can.

Called ‘The Lizzie Borden House’ you can book rooms based on who stayed in them, with options for the Lizzie and Emma Suite, a room where Lizzie Borden and her sister Emma stayed, or the Andrew and Abby Suite.
This room is described in the listing as saying: “Every time you enter and exit your room, you are replicating the last walk Mr. Borden ever took in his own home.”

There is also an option to stay in the ‘Morse (Murder) Room’ where Abby’s body was found, and another room named after her lawyer Andrew Jennings which promises to be the paranormal ‘safe room’.
Rooms range in price but are all upwards of $230 a night, with the B&B booked all the way until early November.

The B&B also offers regular tours alongside bizarre packages such as ‘Lizzie’s Ghost Hunt’, a tour of the nearby cemetery, an ‘Overnight Basement Unguided Ghost Hunt’, and ‘Spilling the Tea with Lizzie’.

Lizzie inherited the home, built in 1845, after the death of her father and stepmother, moving in after she was acquitted of their brutal double murder.
She ultimately sold the home soon after, buying another house nearby where she lived as a social pariah until her death in 1927.
The B&B was set up by Martha McGinn and Ronald Evans whose grandparents purchased the house all the way back in 1948. They opened the B&B in 1996 on the 104th anniversary of the murders after inheriting the property, and it now makes over $1 million a year.

Speaking to local paper the Baltimore Sun, McGinn said she thought living there was ‘cool’ and explained that the murder room was the most requested room.
