Wayne Rooney is tipped to be this year’s big star signing for ITV’s I’m A Celebrity.
There are a haul of celebrity names rumoured to be joining Ant and Dec in Australia, with reports suggesting they might have their biggest name in history.
Over the years, the jungle has welcomed the likes of Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage as well as those from the world of sport including footballer Jill Scott and Mo Farah both proving popular.
The most recent rumours are that ITV have paid big money to bring former Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney to the jungle, after his wife Colleen came second on the 24th series two years ago.
It’s reported that Rooney could become a multi-million pound signing by taking part in the show, which runs for around three weeks.
An insider told The Sun on Sunday: “Wayne is in advanced talks for I’m A Celebrity and if they secure him, he’ll be their biggest signing in the show’s history. ITV have been in negotiations with him for some time and are thrilled that they’ve reached this stage.

“Wayne wants to show their sons what their dad can do and has joked he’ll be giving Coleen a run for her money. He is really competitive and hates losing so will give I’m A Celebrity his all.”
Now, insiders have claimed he has a very personal reason for signing up to the hit show.
The 40-year-old is said to be keen to impress his four sons Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass by throwing himself into the experience and tackling the terrifying Bushtucker Trials.
A source also told the Sun that the former Manchester United player ‘wants to show their sons what their dad can do’ and has joked that he will be giving Coleen ‘a run for her money’.

Wayne previously spoke out in an interview for his new BBC game show, admitting simply: “Anyone who knows me knows I’m competitive.”
Although it is just speculation at this point and an ITV spokesperson refused to confirm any names, the rumours are usually fairly accurate.
According to reports, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has agreed to take part in this year’s I’m A Celeb, and he could be joined by fellow musician Su-Elise Nash, of Mis-Teeq.
Christopher Dean of Torvill and Dean is another name rumoured, as well as former England cricket captain Ben Stokes.
It comes after it was announced that Wayne and Coleen had opened up and let cameras into their home for a 10-part documentary series titled The Real Rooneys. It will air on Disney+ on 24 September.
